What is the difference between a Notary and a Justice of the Peace?

A notary is different from a Justice of the Peace (JP) in that their seal and stamp is recognized worldwide, whereas a JP’s seal and stamp are only recognized within Australia. If you are unsure whether you need the services of a JP or a Notary, we recommend checking with the authority that requested the documents.
